Coronavirus/Covid-19

The Toluca Lake Chamber of Commerce is carefully monitoring the Coronavirus/Covid 19 concerns in the Los Angeles area and we want to provide you with important information that can help you during this challenging time.

First, please know that the health and safety of our community is our number one priority, and we are following the recommendations of the CDC and US Government’s reports on the outbreak.

Currently, people in Los Angeles are encouraged to go about their daily lives and there is no need for panic or extreme measures. However, this can change quickly so people must stay informed and aware of new developments.

While many local governments are discouraging large gatherings, the CDC has said that small groups are permissible, such as going to a restaurant or shopping in the community. However, people who are at a higher risk, such as the elderly and those with preexisting health concerns, should be extra cautious.

We recommend that your company communicate with your customers about the steps you are taking to ensure their safety. If you have an email list for your regular customers, it’s prudent to send them a letter and inform them about what you and your staff are doing to make the customers safe and comfortable. You may also want to post the letter in your store or restaurant so everyone can read it.

Here are some additional suggestions:

For the safety of the community, people who recently traveled to locations where the virus has spread (such as China, Iran, Italy, Japan and South Korea) or who have come in contact with a person known to have contracted the virus should consult appropriate medical professionals and refrain from public contact for at least 2 weeks after returning to Los Angeles.

We recommend that you provide sanitizer pumps at your restaurant or store so that your customers will see it and use it. Also, you should focus on your cleaning procedures to ensure the safety and protection of your customers and staff.

In addition, we encourage business operators to regularly sanitize doorknobs and handles, water faucet handles, basically anything that people touch.

We also encourage people to regularly wash your hands, avoid touching your face, use the fist bump instead of handshakes, and use sanitizer on items that are frequently touched.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions and thank you again for your support of the Toluca Lake Chamber of Commerce.
