Chamber Accomplishments

What the Chamber’s been doing for you!

  • The Chamber has led the fight against GE’s planned Time Square west at the MTA Universal site. We have fought – and continue to fight – for a project that ensures a strong future for our community and our shared investment inTolucaLake.
  • We continue to maintain the landscaped medians and Toluca Lake gateways to enhance the experience of Toluca Lake.
  • We are committed to creating a successful Community Design Overlay for Riverside Drive, which will ensure the character of our community long into the future.
  • We have and continue to fight against those potential building projects that would urbanize and otherwise change Toluca Lake.  We continue to support those projects, which compliment, enhance and support our community.
  • We present the annual Holiday Open House, which has now been declared an official “Valley of Stars” event, and which bring thousands of visitors and potential clients to our community each year.
  • We created and continue sponsor the annual Toluca Lake Fire Service Day pancake breakfast.  This fun-filled event continues to grow each year and has raised more than $26,000 to support our local Toluca Lake Fire Station as well as The Widows, Orphans & Disabled Fireman’s Fund.  It is now the largest Fire Service Day benefit in the region.
  • We sponsor a member reception, which recognizes our merchant and business members and introduces new potential customers to their business.  We support merchant mixers to showcase active members businesses.
  • Old Lankershim Village projects continue to focus on improving business districts along Lankershim from the 101 to the 134 Freeways.
  • The Chamber continues to actively represent our community to various elected & appointed officials through our Government Affairs and Community Development Committee.
  • We continue to improve Toluca Lake through placement of branded street furniture and signage, all intended to enhance the Toluca Lake experience.
  • We are actively & constantly looking for ways to improve the community, including parking issues and safety.  We lobbied to have a traffic signal approved at Trader Joe’s on Riverside Drive, and thanks to our continued diligence with the City, it has now been implemented.
  • Each year we present our Gala Evening, a fundraiser which allows us to continue to advocate in our great community.
  • Finally, we have undertaken an ad hoc parking study to review area parking issues and will be seeking input from local merchants & residents in the coming months.
