Seventy-eight years ago Bob & Dolores Hope’s wedding ceremony took place at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church on the corner of Lankershim Boulevard and Moorpark Street in Toluca Lake. Monday morning, February 27, 2012 a ceremony was held dedicating this intersection as Bob & Dolores Hope Square.
The Toluca Lake home they shared since 1938 is located four blocks east of the square that now bears their names. Their daughter, Linda Hope, attended the dedication as well as Los Angeles City Councilmember Tom LaBonge.
Two months before Bob Hope’s passing in 2003 at the age of 100 the interesection of Hollywood and Vine was dedicated as Bob Hope Square. Dolores Hope passed away last Septemeber at the age of 102.
